Cheyenne Frontier Days Wild Horse Adoption 2023

In July 2023, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Mantle Ranch hosted a successful wild horse adoption event during the Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming. All 14 horses brought to the event found new homes, with an average bid of $1,100. Visitors enjoyed horse gentling demonstrations by Mantle Ranch, highlighting the potential of these majestic animals.

Bishop Mule Days Parade 2024

The annual Bishop Mule Days in California celebrated its 55th event in May 2024. Known as “The Granddaddy of Them All,” this festival featured over 700 mules competing in 181 events, including the largest non-motorized parade in the U.S. Attendees enjoyed a week filled with competitions, arts and crafts, and musical performances, honoring the versatility and heritage of mules. ​

Carson City Inmate-Trained Mustang Adoption 2025

On February 22, 2025, the BLM and the Nevada Department of Corrections hosted an adoption event at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center. Up to 19 saddle-started wild horses, trained by inmates over at least 120 days, were offered for adoption. These horses, ranging in age from 4 to 8 years, showcased the success of rehabilitation programs benefiting both humans and animals. ​
