What we are doing to promote Mustangs

 and

The Wild Horse and Burro Expo:

All of the activities we participate in are done at our own, individual expense. 

•  Attend all prison Adoptions – We are there to answer questions, and have information that goes in the adoption packet on how to reach us if the adopters have any questions. 

• We also maintain an account for the prison gentling program where people can donate to the program.  We use the funds to purchase jeans, boots and tack for the program.  We are currently helping to fund the moving of the Warm Springs Correctional Facility over to "The Farm" - $3500 from the tack fund being used to assist with setting up the new facility.   

•  Ongoing Mustang/Burro Newsletter emailed to almost 300 people, and forwarded to many more people (Weekly question/answers about all aspects of owning a Mustang; Training tips, diet tips, we promote clinics, horsy events, and share our Mustang stories)  

•  Attended the Extreme Mustang Makeover in Texas to "witness history"

 Several of us, with our Mustangs and/or Burros,

•  Participated in the Carson City, Nevada Day Parade
•  Participated in the Sparks Christmas Parade

•  We had a Mustang at a Virginia City Concert that benefited Wild Horses

•   Kids and Mustangs Program – (Started August 2007 at Huffaker Elementary School with 7 classes.  Will repeat this program at Huffaker this       August, and are working on adding other Elementary schools)

•   Huffaker Kids and Mustangs Event - August 1 at Bartley Ranch

•   Fernley Elementary School -  Mustang Awareness, Promoting READING, and Reno Rodeo (5/5/08)

•   Spanish Springs Elementary School - Mustang Awareness, Promoting READING, and Reno Rodeo (5/5/08)

• Super Adoption - A  "Nevada week of the Animals" Event

•  BLM Volunteers – Most of our Board Members are BLM volunteers

•  Mustang Miracles – Schooling Show – April 2008 in Placerville.  A schooling show to get horses and riders ready for show season.  Will be open to all breeds.  Click HERE for a few pictures

• Working with BLM and Mustang Heritage Foundation, we are adopting 50 yearlings through Expo.  There will be special classes just for these yearlings in 2008, 2009, and 2010

•  For 2008 – Tommie Turvey – Equine Extremist will be doing our Evening Entertainment

•  Starting 2007, on Sunday of the Wild Horse Expo, we wear Pink, and one half of the gate proceeds go to a local group that helps women with Cancer
