| Nevada Department of Corrections - Nevada’s inmate/wild horse gentling program from the Warm Spring Correctional Center in Carson City, NV. The inmates are trained in gentling and riding wild horses using safe humane methods. These horses are gentled under the supervision of trainer Hank Curry, who has also donated a training clinic for the Expo. The horses are offered to the public at quarterly adoptions where you can obtain a saddle trained wild horse that you can take home and ride the next day. They also offer training of adopted horses that you can select from the BLM or State of Nevada "estray" program. You may select the horse you want and have adopted and then place it in their training program which is much safer for you and your horse. NEVADA JOE: Nevada Joe is a wild mustang adopted from the Federal Bureau of Land Management in 1995 as part of the Wild Horse Project. The Wahl Corporation brought Nevada Joe to its Equestrian Center and trained him to become a member of the equine society. Horse enthusiasts followed Joe's extraordinary progress for twelve consecutive months in the pages of Horse Illustrated magazine in the year 2002. We work with adoption agencies when they need emergency feed.
