LESLEY NEUMAN

We are quite pleased to have Lesley Neuman join us again at Expo. Last year Lesley labored outside in the gentling pens, in heat and humidity, but this year we're bringing her inside, to work her magic with her favorite breed, the Wild Mustang!

Lesley Neuman is a gifted trainer with a rare ability to understand, communicate with, and gentle wild and unhandled horses. She also has an uncommon gift for communicating with her human audience, while in the process of guiding a wild horse from panicked captivity to comfort and confidence in humans. Visit Lesley Neuman at www.lesleyneuman.com

JERRY TINDELL

We are also very happy to welcome Jerry Tindell back to Expo this year! Anyone who watched the incredible transformation that Jerry brought about in "Wimpy" the Rescue Mustang at last year's Expo, knows how very good he is!

Jerry has a unique ability - and willingness - to effectively teach people of all skill levels and disciplines. He has an uncanny ability to know just exactly what a student is ready to learn at any given time. His timing, his commitment, and plain old-fashioned good manners make his clinics successful, educational, and fun - for everyone, whether rank beginner or accomplished veteran.

Through JERRY TINDELL HORSEMANSHIP CLINICS, hundreds of horse and mule owners have improved their skills. Jerry has also developed a successful training curriculum for mounted law enforcement units.

More about Jerry Tindell at www.jerrytindell.com

I have been a student of natural horsemanship for a number of years and still have gaps in my understanding of and communication with horses.  I am pleased to say that "Jerry filled in many of those gaps" ... that will benefit myself, and any horse I work with, in the future.
- Pam Respini, Mendocino County (California) Search & Rescue

HANK CURRY

Hank Curry is the man behind the success of the Warm Springs Correctional Facility's Wild Horse Training Program. Hank not only trains horses, he trains the men who work with the horses. Many of these are city boys who have never been near a horse before, let alone a wild one! Hank is amazing, and we are pleased to have him at Expo this year.

ROBERT MILLER, DVM

Dr. Miller will speak on "Natural Horsemanship and the Equine Mind, " and "How The Revolution in Natural Horsemanship Applies To Starting Mustangs"

NEWS FLASH!!! Dr. Miller was inducted into the Western States (Sacramento) Horse Expo Hall of Fame on Saturday, June 12, during the Evening Showcase! Congratulations, Dr. Miller!

Being a natural horseman, Dr. Miller  believes that horses and people share a common bond, and works to strengthen the connection by promoting humane, effective training between horses and humans.  His desire is to “to create a better life for horses”, and he has dedicated his retirement to promoting humane horse training techniques.

WILD HORSE MENTORS/LRTC

"Ordinary People, Extraordinary Results"

Wild Horse Mentors - a division of LRTC (Least Resistance Training Concepts) is a nation-wide group of volunteers who are dedicated to promoting successful adoptions of wild horses and burros, through teaching people how to gentle and interact with these wonderful creatures.

Mentor/Clinicians Chris Erlon, Willis Lamm, Cliff Tipton, Janet Tipton, & Donna Maye West, Betty Retzer and Marialaina Batoong, from as far away as Alabama, Texas and Utah will be out in the adoption pens all three days of Expo, teaching onlookers a wide variety of gentling techniques that ordinary people can learn, working in ordinary BLM-spec 20 ft. square pens. Link to LRTC/Wild Horse Mentors website: http://www.whmentors.org/whw/wswhbe04a.html

ALAN CAIN is our announcer and a clinician specializing in Backcountry horsemanship. Alan will conduct a clinic about the Gentle Use of the Wilderness. He will also set up a model encampment in the Reno Livestock Events Center, which visitors may enjoy and study.

DONNA MAYE WEST Donna Maye West is highly acclaimed as a trainer and teacher. She is certified by the Horse Safety Association, and will conduct a safety orientation class for working with any horses  - wild or domestic.

The lecture and video (approx. 45 minutes total) are really geared toward riding horses, but much of it applies to work on the ground, too. The video is an eye opener as it interviews people who have survived equine accidents and talks about some who didn't.  After this class you may be more eager to don that helmet!

The Alliance organizations represent the interests of over 8 million Americans. The award winning Alliance website can be accessed at www.savewildhorses.org.

Ginger will speak about her 10 years in the wild. Her ground breaking revelations about wild horse behavior have been compared to the work of Jane Goodall with her chimpanzees in Africa.
