| March 11, 2004 To all our Vendors, and persons interested in becoming vendors: At long last we have some information for you regarding the Western States Wild Horse and Burro Expo 2004. As it is March you may have wondering what was going on for this year. Well, it has been a long process with trying to secure the Reno Livestock Center, but we finally have dates and exciting news. The 2004 Expo is slated for August 21, 21, & 22, 2004. The event will once again be held in the main arena of the Reno Livestock Events Center. The 2004 Expo will be kicking off the Nevada State Fair, exciting for us, and hopefully you as well. This development will allow you, if you want, to be able to set up and participate and then stay for the week of the State Fair. We tried to arrange it so you could pay just one vendor fee for the entire stay, but we were unable to work that out for this year. So, our booths will remain the same price ($100-$200, see enclosed form), and if you are interested in staying over for the State Fair and related events (4-H Horse Show and a barrel racing event with over 1000 competitors) the fee to be paid to the State Fair people would be $400.00 if reserved and paid for by May 1, 2004, otherwise the fee is $550.00. The State Fair people will also do their best to keep you in the same spot as you are for the Expo, but obviously cannot guarantee that. If you are interested in staying for the State Fair, please contact Joy Birenbaum at 1-775-688-5767 (State Fair inquiries only)or jskaosone@yahoo.com as soon as possible. The Western States Wild Horse and Burro Expo is an all volunteer organization dedicated to informing and educating people about these wonderful animals. The Expo provides a forum for wild horse and burro advocates and adopters to share their knowledge and experiences with future adopters and the public. A portion of funds raised after Expo costs will be donated to specified groups working with and for wild horses and burros. Past recipients include WHOA, Outside Las Vegas, and the Warm Springs Correctional Facility. This years recipients have not yet been determined. Funds are raised by sponsorships of the classes and the Expo itself, a Silent Auction, and a raffle in which the Grand Prize is a brand new three-horse trailer. (See RAFFLE PAGE) We collect items all year and ask for vendor participation for Silent Auction Items. If you are interested in advertising in the Show Program, or sponsoring a class please see the enclosed Sponsorship list. We look forward to hear from you soon regarding your attendance at this year’s Expo. (Questions? Click to email us!) |
