Dear Vendors, HAVE WE GOT A DEAL FOR YOU! Under the umbrella of the National Wild Horse and Burro Foundation we are working nationwide to link a formal network of wild horse shows culminating in an eventual National Finals Show. We will be growing very quickly. Two of the events scheduled: - The National Wild Horse and Burro Show (Winnemucca, NV)
- The first Western States Wild Horse and Burro Expo (in Reno)
THE WESTERN STATES WILD HORSE AND BURRO EXPO, SHOW, & CONVENTION The Expo and Show will be in Reno at the Livestock Events Center on July 18, 19, and 20th. This years will be ½ day show events with afternoon and evening expo events such as clinics, exhibits, exhibition events, demonstrations, promotions, drawings, auctions, and raffles. In addition, a year end awards banquet, BBQ, dance and music by David John and the Comstock Cowboys and Hall of Fame initiations. We anticipate this event to grow beyond our expectations very quickly. We are approaching large well known clinicians from across the nation to pack the three days full of events. A critical part, is our vendors. We will be offering vendor spots in the indoor arena. All the events, the show, exhibitions, etc. will be held inside where you are located. VALUE-ADDING ACTIVITIES Additional incentives for you to exhibit at the Western States Wild Horse and Burro Expo include a joint facility booking with Sharon Camarillo’s National Barrel Racing Final’s, Celebration of the Horse, and the public debut of the National Wild Horse and Burro Foundation. National Barrel Racing Finals The Sharon Camarillo Classic, championship competition for Barrel Racing Clinic students, featuring Sharon Camarillo, highly recognized barrel racing champion and clinician has been hosted in Reno for the past 11 years. She has invited us to join in on their dates and host our Expo to make it much larger for both events. As with previous years their Finals will be held in the outdoor arena July 18-20th. We have partnered together to make this quite an extravaganza for the horse world, AND.......they do not have vendors outside! You will be the single shopping mecca for this event! Their attendance is over 300 contestants each year!!!!!! They have a first rate event and this event brings not only the reputation of Sharon Camarillo and her staff but high ethics in the equine world. This will be an incredible event for all of us. The Livestock Events Center will be full of people, both contestants and spectators. Celebration of the Horse - Friday Evening Show On Friday evening, we are hosting a "Celebration of the Horse" evening showcase. We will have adopters of all disciplines showing what their horses can do in a demonstration setting. Whether it be English, western, cutting, endurance, or a multitude of other uses, wild horses are up to any task put in front of them with the proper training. After the showcase we would move into a BBQ and dance in the arena. David John and the Comstock Cowboys, will be playing for the first annual "Celebration of the Horse" event. We will also be hosting a fund raising auction that evening. National Wild Horse and Burro Foundation Debut Events The new National Wild Horse and Burro Foundation, which works in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management to find loving homes for excess wild horses and burros will hold its first National Adopters’ Convention in conjunction with the Western States Wild Horse and Burro Expo. Participants from all parts of the country will attend educational presentations, engage in discussions, and share their experiences with other adopters. The convention will include Expo events and the Celebration of the Horse. In preparation for the Adopters’ Convention, the Foundation will engage youth from various 4-H, FFA, and scouting groups throughout the West to compete for the opportunity to be awarded a wild horse which has been trained through the acclaimed Nevada Department of Corrections Gentling program. The Foundation will award the horses to the successful applicants during the Adopters Convention. We anticipate that the Foundation events will draw 200 to 300 people and will attract the attention of national media. The Foundation events will not include separate vendor opportunities, so you will be the marketplace for these events also! PARTNERSHIPS Attached is a listing of available spaces and application to attend. We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us in this first of many building years. As always, we will be hosting a raffle and auction with proceeds to benefit programs that help wild horses and burros in promotion and rescue work. As we are a non-profit, any donations and/or sponsorships are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. Please contact Cathy Barcomb for any additional questions or information needed.
