Bonnie Davis, Horse Camping

BONNIE  DAVIS has been active in the acquisition, development, maintenance and preservation of trails, open space and horse camps for over 40 years.  She has worked with federal, state, local agencies and private sectors on design, safety, multi-use and horse camping.  Her presentations on "Horse Camping" draw from her wealth of experience.

Bonnie has spoken at numerous California Backcountry Horsemen Rendezvous, Klamath Falls Wilderness Clinics, California State Horsemen's Association Conventions, five years at Horse Expo in Sacramento, California (the largest Equine Expo in North America), plus numerous clubs, associations, Horse Councils and groups.  Her free lance articles dealing with trails and camping have appeared in publications national and international and Bonnie is the owner of Two Horse Enterprises, an internet site dedicated to horse camping and trail riding.

Bonnie's Horse Camping presentations at WSWHBE will cover "where to go, what to take & how to get there." Come see her in the Main Arena on Friday, July 18, at 3:00 PM, and Saturday in the Cutting Arena at 5:00 PM.

Horse camping provides the means for saddle horse owners to access those out of the way trails without the need for extra pack stock.  Where to find those camping sites,  feeds and feeding, water uses, selecting camp sites, keeping a horse safely in camp plus other topics will be presented along with how to camp and meet the environmental requirements of various agencies such as weed free feed and water quality.  Handouts at end of each presentation.
